AT&T® ISDN Prime Service
Lets you consolidate multiple voice and data services onto a single line terminating in your PBX or host computer. ISDN Prime Service simplifies your access to a variety of applications, including LAN-to-LAN connectivity and video conferencing.
ISDN Prime Service carries multiple voice, WATS, 800 Service, circuit-switched data, and packet-switched data calls on a single line at speeds of up to 64 kilobits per second (Kbps). And, because one ISDN T-1 card can do the work of up to three DID and/or CO cards, ISDN Prime saves you precious PBX cabinet capacity.
You get...
Free Caller ID—inbound and outbound. (If the Prime for outbound calls is used, then caller extension information is passed to the called party's system.)
Flexibility—provides 23 two-way DID trunks.
Low Cost—each channel is approximately $12.50 per month less than a DID trunk.
Future Technology Compatible—ISDN Prime positions your organization for future PBX/voice applications, including Message Manager and "Screen Pop."
It's good for...
LAN interconnection
Consolidation of network facilities
Video conferencing
Private line backup for disaster recovery
Remote terminal access
PC-to-host networking

How it Works
In AT&T's Network
Each ISDN Prime Service connection is made up of 23 circuit-switched voice/data B channels and one signaling data D channel, all operating at 64 Kbps. SBC's circuit-switched network carries digitized voice, data, or image from the B channels, while their SS7 network carries signaling data from the D channel. ISDN software allows the line to carry as many simultaneous incoming and outgoing calls as needed.
At Your Premises
At your premises, ISDN Prime Service can terminate at a PBX equipped with ISDN Primary Rate Interface (PRI) software, a DS1 card, a CSU/DSU, and D-channel capability. Or ISDN Prime Service can terminate at a multiplexer equipped with PRI software and a CSU/DSU.
Pricing/Delivery
ISDN Prime monthly cost (including DS-1, 60-month term) is approximately $550.00.
Installation cost is $2,000.00.
Hardware costs and costs to extend the line to your suite are not included.
